BEER FOR THE EARTH!
April was full of incredible collaborations! Thanks to all the Oregon Brewshed Alliance partners who created a special brew in support of Oregon’s wildlife, wildlands, and waters this Earth Month!
Following last year’s success, we once again teamed up with Schilling Cider for their awesome “Keep It Wild” campaign. Schilling generously donated a portion of proceeds from every purchase of the Excelsior Imperial Apple cider throughout April. Thanks to Schilling for helping Keep Oregon Wild!
As part of the national Earth To Beer campaign, Hopworks Brewery brewed a special Earth to Beer Organic IPA in support of Oregon Wild. We enjoyed raising a glass of this sustainably-sourced beer to Oregon’s special places!
Six breweries participated in this year’s Wild & Scenic Earth Day Collaboration Series in partnership with Oregon Wild, Yakima Chief Hops and Coleman Agriculture. This resulted in a variety of amazing beers brewed across the state in support of advancing river and watershed protections through Senator Ron Wyden’s River Democracy Act. Thanks to all the participating breweries and to YCH and Coleman for once again donating the hops and making this special collaboration possible!

OREGON BREWSHED® ALLIANCE PARTNERS STAND OUT!
The Oregon Beer Awards took place in Portland on April 4, sponsored in part by the Oregon Brewshed Alliance, and a number of partners stood out and took home awards this year! Congratulations to 7 Devils, Alesong Brewing and Blending, Breakside, ColdFire, Deschutes, Falling Sky, Fort George, Oak Union, pFreim, Ruse, Sunriver, and Widmer Brewing for winning medals in beer categories, and cheers to Sunriver Brewing for being named Large Brewery of the Year and to Grand Fir Brewing for Small Brewery of the Year.
Some of our Brewshed Alliance partners were recognized on a bigger stage as well! Alesong, Breakside, ColdFire, Deschutes, Fort George, Grand Fir, pFreim, and Sunriver Brewing all took home awards at the World Beer Cup awards in Las Vegas last month.
Cheers to all the great beer Oregon has to offer!
BREWSHED® PARTNERS OF THE MONTH!
For the second year in a row, Sunriver Brewing participated in the Earth Day Wild & Scenic Collaboration Series. This year’s brew, the Alluvial IPA, honors the Upper Deschutes Brewshed and includes notes of mixed berries, candied grapefruit, evergreen, and passionfruit.
Sunriver Brewing also took home 12 medals at the Oregon Beer Awards this year, including Large Brewery of the Year!
“At Sunriver Brewing Company we pride ourselves on the quality and consistency of our beer. A big part of that profile comes from our water sources in the Upper Deschutes watershed. As a brewer, once you’ve experienced brewing with water from a high-quality watershed, you’ll never again take your water for granted. In my opinion, it’s the single most important ingredient in making great beer.” ~ Brett Thomas, Sunriver Brewing Director of Brewing Operations
THANKS FOR HELPING US CELEBRATE 50 YEARS!
More than 200 supporters helped Oregon Wild celebrate our 50th Anniversary at gala events in Portland and Eugene this month. The program included displays of memorabilia and landmarks in our history, a delicious meal, awards for outstanding conservationists, and a special 50th anniversary video. Of course, all that was made better by contributions from Brewshed Alliance partners who donated beer, wine, cider, and funds to support this milestone anniversary.
Thanks to Worthy Brewing for their sponsorship, and to Ninkasi Brewing, Schilling Cider, Avid Cider, and Breakside Brewery for beverage donations to help us celebrate!
